Some nice shots of my TJ with my 13' trailer and two Yamaha 660's =]

Man, at about 30k miles, I noticed some grinding noise from the rear. I only noticed it when backing up with the trailer and it was VERY random.  Well, it finally got to me at about 35k miles. I dropped her off and of course, they found nothing.  I couldn't hold 60mph with cruise on with the trailer, I was noticing alot of what felt like brakes coming on. I just knew my diff was about to go.  Guess the dealership didn't even BOTHER to open the pumpkin.

At 35,944 miles I found an oil leak. It was dripping down from the front of the tranny. As I look around underneath, I see alot more.

I guess I can ASSume that the reason the diff sounds bad is cause I have a leak!!!!  The dealer said they are going to fix the leak. I sure hope they find the gears to be bad and replace them too.

Right now (July 4, 2005) I have dye in the engine to help find the leak. I'll be taking her back next week.  I'm pretty disgusted.  Thank GOD I have the 7/70k powertrain warranty!  Either way, I'm thinking hard about trading her in on an F150.  I really have no use for a TJ. I need something to tow with and haul the Busy Bee in.  Something to haul a deer out of the woods.  Don't get me wrong, I love having a Jeep. there's nothing better then a topless 4x4 that can go ANYWHERE.  I've never been more impressed with a 4x4 as I've been with my TJ.  Driving down ATV trails in Kistachie during hunting season... can't do that in a truck :)

Anyways, the next few weeks will make or break me keeping her. I only have 2 years left to pay on her, just paid off the car. It makes more sense moneywise to just keep it... but if she pisses me off or costs me more money for stupid crap like leaks, SHE'S GONE!!!
